Ranch & Reata Features Rendezvous West!
by Deborah Shamah It's an amazing thing to have a feature article published about Rendezvous West for such a prestigious magazine. Jayne Skeff, president of Design America Foundation, interviewed us and wrote the article.
She began the article with, "When most people hear the word 'rendezvous' they assume it to mean a final destination or meeting point. Well, Rendezvous West is a destination, just not a finite one. It's a meeting place without boundaries where leather and wood artist and sculptors Russell and Deborah Shamah invite you to experience the life and beauty of the American West and its magnificent complexion which they transform into art."
We strive to be in constant growth. Always improving on our techniques, and learning new ones. Without that growth, we would become stagnant. However, how do we find our inspiration so we can continue to give you a special piece you will not only enjoy and treasure but, when you look at it or wear it you'll find a connection with the American West?
Sometimes we just look out the widow at one of our beautiful Colorado sunsets and it inspires the colors we use. Other times I might see an antique pair of spurs and I am so enthralled with the intricate artwork, it inspires me to share a portion of the design in my leather carving. For Russell the hunt for that perfect piece of wood in our Colorado forests is part of the journey for him.
Wherever we find our inspiration, we would not be able to continue this journey without you. Whether we met at a show, or on the street, or you found our work on the internet we are grateful to you for allowing us to share this journey with you. We promise, we will continue to provide you with the best and look forward to our next rendezvous.
